9 years as an ex-pat living in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Brazil
In college, I studied abroad in Adelaide, Australia, mainly because I wanted a 'soft landing' for my first time living abroad--a place where English was widely spoken (and what a beautiful accent it is!).
After college, I discovered my Scottish heritage (my maiden name is Normand, and who knew there is actually a Normand Road & Normand Brae named after my family in Dysart!). I also spent time living in the UK and Ireland before returning to Australia to complete my Master of Education in Sydney (the reigning 'World's Most Instagram-able City'). Years later while living in Perth, I met my Brazilian husband, and he convinced me to move with him to Curitiba, Brazil, where we lived for four years and where I learned to speak Portuguese.
Two degrees and nine total years of life abroad later, I started this college consulting practice to help others navigate the complex but rewarding process of studying overseas.
